Atlanta, Ga. – October 6th, 2014, – Tito Puente Jr. the son of the legendary, latin and jazz great Tito Puente, now is carrying on the family tradition of good music, Tito Puente Jr. is bringing his fathers music back to life and sharing it all across the world.

Tito Jr. and his band tour across the country, is keeping the celebrated music alive, Tito says, “I’m loving every minute of it, what a better way to honor my father than by keeping people dancing”. He and his band have become favorites at  festivals, Latin Jazz festivals and art venues across the country. They have also been known for giving back by traveling overseas to perform for troops in places such as Korea, Japan, Spain, and Italy.

In addition to performing his fathers music, Tito also has his own contemporary Latin music which is featured on his new album,  “Got Mambo”. Critics rave that Tito Puente Jr. breezes through his fathers hits, leading his 6-piece band through songs such as “Oy Como Va,” “I Like It Like That,” and “Macarena.” Tito Jr. explains, “He was just too vibrant, too exciting, really before his time. There was magic in the music my father made. It made people happy, all over the world. My goal is to keep it alive, and in doing so, expose it to a whole new generation.”

Tito Puente Jr. will be performing at the Georgia Latino Film Festival at an undisclosed venue in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday October 18th 2014 at 8:00 p.m.

20140605_215203Sept. 8, 2014 – Atlanta, Georgia.  To ensure that Latino  filmmakers have a platform  to network, grow  and promote their work, Jose Marquez, CEO of Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association (LISTA), and Lance Robertson, CEO of the Black Latino Council, created  the Georgia Latino Film Festival during Hispanic Heritage Month in 2011.

“Now in our third year our footprint has expanded exponentially,” says Marquez. “We have film submissions from all over the country, Mexico, Columbia, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Cuba and Santo Domingo and see attendees from all over.”

To kick off this year, Georgia Latino Film Festival will hold a special edition red carpet event, gathering  the city’s top Latino influencers in journalism, blogging, marketing, technology and entertainment, networking and musical performances. On Friday we will premiere a new Movie Cuba: “Finding Dad” a film by E. Vincent Martinez. and on Saturday we will premiere 2 New Movies, one from master actor Pepe Serna in “AGuruphobia“,  Kiki Melendez,  present, The Journey of a Female Comic and Musical Performances by Grammy Nominated Singer/Songwriter Seich and Tito Puente Jr. and his Orchestra and many more.

This year we are bringing in a-list Actors and Actress, and the movies will be incredible. For our presenting corporate partners “We will add 15 second in English and Spanish to play throughout the festival and provide them to local main stream, urban and Latino Media with content they can use,” says Robertson. “Plus we form media partnerships so the event will have great coverage and continued growth.”

Vince the “Voice” Bailey returns this year to host the Georgia Latino Film Festival on October 12th & 13th at the Plaza Theatre were we will be screening movies and conducting panel discussions.

Vince Bailey is a 30-year media veteran who began his career as a United Way volunteer reader for the blind in his hometown of Gary, Indiana. After serving as Program Director for TCI Cablevision of Gary, Vince and his family moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. There he perfected his craft working in various capacities including: News Photographer / Editor at CBS Channel 11, Morning Radio Personality at Power 92 FM, Cable Television Coordinator for the City of Little Rock, Production Supervisor for Comcast Cable, Commercial Manager for WB 42 and Media Manager for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

For the past sixteen years, he has operated Vince Bailey Productions, a full service audio video production and consulting company based in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Past clients include the USDA National Forest Service, US Department of Commerce, The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, United Healthcare, State Farm, Lowe’s, Wells Fargo, and Job Corps Centers around the country. He is a professional announcer for college and professional sporting events and broadcasts including the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream, Arena Football League’s Georgia Force, Pro Boxing, Professional Ballroom Dancing, and continues to provide voice talent for commercial clients nationwide. Additionally, Vince is a highly regarded Master of Ceremonies, providing Voice of God and on stage program management for many organizations including the American Cancer Society, the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council, and many Non-Profit and Business Organizations.

Vince has received numerous awards and recognition for his work in television and radio but his greatest achievement is the training and mentoring he has provided for many young media professionals. He serves as an instructor in the Continuing Education Department at Clayton State University for the Voiceover Certificate Program. He has served on many boards and committees related to youth and personal development including: Past Chairman of the Fulton County Workforce Board, Chairman of the Atlanta Job Corps Community Advisory Council, member of the Atlanta Business League Board of Directors and member of the Fulton County Schools Career and Technical Education Advisory Council.

Georgia Latino Film Festival (GALFF) is now accepting entries for our 2014 Festival. We are looking for films directed, produced, acted or written by the Latinos that explore our community and showcases our talent through the use of the moving images.

In order to submit a film you need to know the criteria right? So please read the following information and complete the submissions form.

Georgia Latino Film Festival Criteria

  • Entries must be written, directed, produced and/or principally acted by Latinos.
  • More than one entry can be submitted. However each entry must be accompanied by separate submission forms, fee and materials.
  • Year of completion must be 2013 or later.
  • All Spanish or Caribbean Language films must have English subtitles.
  • All English Language films should also be subtitled in Spanish
  • You are encouraged to submit prior to the deadline for a reduced fee.

Use What Application is Easier for You to Submit

Online submissions must include a signed copy of the entry form, fee, publicity photo and 250 word synopsis of the film.

Signing the entry form certifies that you are the rightful owner of the submitted work and own all rights and releases necessary for public screening. All legal clearances and releases including, but not limited to talent, music or stock footage are the responsibility of the filmmaker. The submitted film is not subject to litigation and is not threatened by litigation.

We require 2 DVD screener copies (NTSC-US format) for the screening . They must be clearly labeled with title, running time, director’s name and contact e-mail address. A separate entry form and fee must be completed for each film. Submission and Payments must be made by PayPal only through http://www.Filmfreway.com  or http://www.Festhome.com.

No personal checks will be accepted.

DVD screeners will not be returned. Incomplete entries will not be considered.

Please double check to ensure that your DVD plays back properly.

Web Series Entries: Open to all genres. Must be created or performed by people of color. Meet all of the previously stated entry guidelines. However, your submission should be a currently running web series. 2 DVD’S with 3-5 episodes (no longer than ten minutes each) should be submitted with your completed entry form. Please write ‘Web Series Entry’ on your entry form.

If your work is selected, you agree to provide a final exhibition DVD no later than September 30, 2013. You give permission for Georgia Latino Film Festival to utilize Movie, clips or stills of your entry for festival promotional purposes (including but not limited to television, web, OVN Latino, OVN and presentations).

There is no premiere requirement, however Georgia Latino Film Festival encourages at least an Atlanta premiere for selected films. A press kit is required only after acceptance. A color production photo or title is required with your submission.

Georgia Latino Film Festival is not responsible for damage to or loss of any submitted materials in route to the Festival. The sender is responsible for all shipping costs (including customs and delivery fees). Georgia Latino Film Festival  will only acknowledge receipt of your entry by email.

Notices will only be given to accepted artists by the last week of September. Two festival All Access passes will be given to designated representatives of the selected entry. Master Classes and selected other events are not included.
